Show Jesus

Have you ever seen someone that simply just shines? I have and let me tell you, it's made a huge impact on me. Last year, I came back from an event completely distressed. I was worried that I wasn't pouring into the lives of my friends and family like I should be. I was worried that when people looked at me they weren't seeing Jesus. I mean, it was really a problem. (A couple of my close friends can tell you!)
Ever since, I have been more conscience of the way I live. I mean my spiritual life may be great in a private setting, but what are people seeing? After coming back, I began praying and talking about it with a couple close friends, and ya know what? Within a couple months, random people in my life began telling me via email/letters/conversations that they can see me really growing and they thanked me for pouring into their lives. When we make an effort, we will see the fruit--and it's amazing!

Ephesians 5:18 says "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,"
Last year, at a class I took, we were discussing this verse and something really stood out to me. When a person is drunk, that's all we really notice about him. We don't comment on his shoes, but his foolishness. When we are filled with the Spirit, we should be so full of Jesus, that that's all people notice about us. Cliche, maybe. But true it is. And we need to live it.

Show Jesus Lyrics:

Your smile's always shinning out
And they know what it's all about
It's not hard for them to figure out
The way you show Jesus
You know love is what they heard
And you didn't even say a word
Ain't it funny that's the way it works
When you know Jesus

Oh it's like flipping on a light switch when you're walking into this room
It's so undeniable

I gotta tell you that I like the way
Any time anywhere any place
It's written all over your face
The way you love Jesus
And it always speaks to me
A little joy with a touch of peace
It's so inspiring
The way you show Jesus

So gimme that gimme that
And show me that show me that
Oh gimme that gimme that
The way you show Jesus

When I'm feeling down on my luck
When life's hard and times get tough
You're right there to pick me up
When you bring Jesus
Cause every now and then
We all need a really good friend
You're always one of them
When you show Jesus

And oh it's like flipping on a light switch when you're walking into this room
It's so unmistakable

I gotta tell you that I like the way
Any time anywhere any place
It's written all over your face
The way you love Jesus
And it always speaks to me
A little joy with a touch of peace
It's so inspiring
The way you show Jesus

So gimme that gimme that
And show me that show me that
Oh gimme that gimme that
The way you show Jesus

Oh it's like flipping on a light switch when you're walking into this room
You're so unmistakable
And oh show up any time of day you could never get here too soon
You're so unbelievable you're so unbelievable

Just gimme that gimme that
And show me that show me that
Oh gimme that gimme that
The way you show the way you show him

I gotta tell you that I'm liking the way
Any time anywhere any place
It's written all over your face
The way you love Jesus
And it always speaks to me
A little joy with a touch of peace
It's so inspiring
The way you show Jesus

So gimme that gimme that
And show me that show me that
Oh gimme that gimme that
The way you show Jesus

  2. Aww, thanks Julia!
Yep, me too. This song really summed up the way I was feeling after I got back home, and was going through that. It'll always have a special place in my heart! :)

  3. Wow. That's amazing that you would post this today. I just got back from college where a girl from my health class asked me if I was "religious." When I said yes she said that she could really tell. I'm glad. :) I've had random people tell me that I am beautiful, that my smile shines, and that I seem like a really nice person. But I've never had someone connect that with my "religion" before.

  4. Awww Hannah, that's so sweet! Thanks for sharing. I am so glad the Lord worked in that way. And that's neat that she connected that with religion. WOW!
And Hannah, you do have an adorable smile, by the way. :)
